Future Plans
Hello everyone, I wanted to announce here that I do plan on making a full version of this game, but there will be a lot of things added to it. The overall battle concept will stay the same, but overall the game will end up quite a bit different than this "demo" version.
Some of the upcoming changes are:
- A new complete story, featuring new characters and a more cooperative relationship between Vivian and Taylor.
- Better cutscenes, using a purpose-built VN addon that allows for sprite animations and skipping the text crawl.
- New art, including animations for weapons, UI and environments, and animated sprites for Vivian and Taylor. And yes, bigger sizes as well.
- More battle types and enemy variety. The title of the game will be different, since Taylor will be fighting a lot more than just slimes!
- New maps for players to explore and find encounters in. You'll be able to see more of the world than just the mansion and the battle arena.
- New weapon upgrades and balance that will allow all weapons to be viable, and encourage more playstyles. Enemies will drop materials that will be used to upgrade your weapons.
- A new perspective for the battles. The battles will have a more isometric perspective, and will include quality of life features like player hitbox highlights and weapon range highlights.
- Special abilities that can be used in battle, to help against tougher foes or overcoming map specific obstacles.
- New expansion mechanics that tie belly size to the player's actions, and not just a static size increase each day.
- And maybe, just maybe, Vivian will be playable too??
There are a lot more nuanced ideas I have in mind, and I'm still deciding on some things. Since I'm not rushing to complete this in time for a game jam, development will take longer, especially with all the new features I plan to add. Extra time will be needed for polish as well so everything looks nice. I'll most likely be putting any updates and development notes on my twitter account @Nsfwylft, at least until that site inevitably crashes.
If there is anything else you would like to see in the full version, feel free to leave a comment.
Thank you to everyone that enjoyed this project, and stay tuned for more (unless I get lazy)!
